FAQ & Guide

Everything you need to know to get accurate playlist durations, quickly.

Quick Start

  1. Copy a YouTube playlist URL or ID. You can also paste individual video links.
  2. Paste it on the homepage and click Analyze. We fetch public metadata via the YouTube API.
  3. Optionally set a start/end video range and playback speed (1.25x, 1.5x, 2x).
  4. View totals, formatted time, and per-speed estimates. Copy or export results.

Supported Links

We support:

  • Playlist URLs like https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=...
  • Shorts/Video URLs; we add them to a temporary list to total time
  • Raw playlist IDs (PL...)

Speed Calculations

We compute adjusted watch time using exact duration values. For a base duration T, the time at speed s is T / s. We show common presets and keep precision to seconds.

Ranges & Large Playlists

Use the start/end controls to total only a slice of a long playlist. For very large lists, we fetch in batches and cache results to keep the tool responsive.

Common Errors

  • Private/unlisted videos may not return duration data via the API.
  • Country-restricted videos can cause gaps. We skip missing items gracefully.
  • Invalid URLs/IDs will show a validation error. Double-check the link.

Tips

  • Use ranges to plan week-by-week viewing schedules.
  • Try 1.25x or 1.5x for realistic learning pace estimates.
  • Export results and share them with collaborators or students.
